Uber failure to cancel Uber One charges and provide full refund of charges.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE!

 

Over one year ago I discovered that Uber Company was charging $9.99 per month for Uber One. This was Feb 2025. I couldn’t remember ever signing up for this service.

I tried to cancel the service through the app, then looked online for the process and used their procedures. This did not work so I contacted Uber Customer Support. It took some time to reach someone.

And they confirmed that I was not on this service and informed me that the problem had been fixed. Please refer to communications from Feb 2025. Note I only found this charge through a bank account review. This was an automatic monthly charge.

I did have the Uber App on my phone and used it once or twice. I kept if for a rare chance I needed a ride. The process to reach someone at Uber is not made easy for customers when you have this type of problem.

Partly due to process Uber states online to cancel or remove an account didn’t work because the options didn’t show up in my app. I’m sure other customers have similar problems.

In March 2026 after another review of my account, I found that Uber never stopped charging my account as they said in Feb 2025. As before I looked up the process to cancel my count and stop the wrongful charging.

Again, I went to their Service Support and after many backs and forth to clear the charging issue and get a refund of the erroneous charges. Also note that I never had or signed up for Uber One.

Uber One never showed up to give me the option to cancel therefore I could not follow the cancellation instructions. As a customer I requested two actions to take place.

1. Refund the over charges from Feb 2025 to March 2026

2. Permanently delete my account.

I gave a short period to receive the refund and to ensure my account was not being charged. I received some cryptic Information on my account not being active that they couldn’t delete my account.

At this point I have no trust in Uber and their services. Apr 2026, I checked my account and found that again I had been charged. This has been a very time-consuming process without resolution, and I now must spend more of my time resolving something that should be a very simple problem to solve.

My new expectations are as below:

1. Refund the over charges from Feb 2025 to Apr 2026

2. Permanently delete my account

3. 4 hours of my time` compensation which equals. 4x$100 = $400.00

4. Formal confirmation that I am no longer in Uber system.

If these demands can’t be met, then I will review other options.
